Comparative Zooarchaeology Collection

The Comparative Zooarchaeology Collection includes over 300 specimens and is largely focused on North American and European fauna.  Ungulates comprise the core of the collection, particularly horse, cow, sheep, goat, deer and pig, however, the collection also includes reptiles, amphibians, fish, small birds, rodents, and small mammals.  The collection also include archaeological materials from the Swiss Lakes (Neolithic), Dun Ailinne (Irish Iron Age), Sus Höyük (Early Bronze Age Turkey), and New York City (Historical Period). The collection is housed in the Zooarchaeology Laboratory.
