Inscribed, Eliza Giffard, Nerquis Flintshire, on title page and front pastedown endpaper with “397” in manuscript ink in volume 1 and “398” in volume 2. Bookplate of the Viven & Smith’s Circulating Library of Bishopsgate-Street on front pastedown endpaper of both volumes. In quarter calf with blue marbled paper covered boards. Gilt volume numbers on spine, and traces of Giffard’s mss. spine markings in ink.
