THE COLLECTION OF A GEORGIAN WOMAN READER
This is such an interesting project. A friend and I have been researching Elizabeth Giffard for sometime now as she owned property in the village where I live in Cheshire. She had so many interests including gardening, planting trees, purchasing furniture from Gillows in Lancaster and unusually was a woman who inherited property at this time. The religious problems in the family were traumatic and caused the separation of Elizabeth from her sister and father for many years.
I am interested to know what started you on the trail of her books which were obviously many and varied. Both she and her mother kept diaries which illuminate the lives of women of their times. I am so pleased to have found your site.
