On June 15, 2019, NYU researcher Yann LeCun and two colleagues were presented with the 2018 Turing Award for their work in artificial intelligence. The award’s namesake, Alan Turing, was a computing pioneer and is considered by many to be an icon of the LGBTQ movement.

Congratulations to NYU professor and Tech Summit keynote speaker Yann LeCun, one of three researchers to receive the 2018 Turing Award. LeCun, Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton, were honored with the $1 million “Nobel Prize of computing” in recognition of their work in AI deep learning.

An App That Translates Voice and Sign Language
