Digital Library Partners with Internet Archive to Preserve Websites of Contemporary Composers
NYU’s Digital Library Technology Services (DLTS) in partnership with the Internet Archive and Tisch School of the Arts Moving Image Archiving and Preservation, has created an archive of the websites of contemporary music composers. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, this seeks to go beyond indexing and archiving the sites. It’s aim is also to reengineer web crawling tools to enable them to better capture high-quality streaming audio and video materials, so that the entire record of a composer’s site can be preserved.
Announcing an Easier Way to Place Calls Between NYU’s Global Locations
NYU IT is pleased to announce a new feature that reduces the number of digits required to place calls between most NYU global locations. Instead of having to dial the full telephone number, you can now use the destination location’s new two-digit prefix, followed by the 5-digit extension of the NYU phone you’re calling.
2018 HackNYU Winners
The 2018 HackNYU hackathon took place over the weekend of March 24-25. Out of 81 final submissions and 501 participants, there were 16 winners across categories such as Assistive Technology, Educational Technology, Healthcare, and Sustainability & Social Impact, as well as recognitions awarded by event sponsors.
