MEETS EXPECTATIONS:

80-90%

Understood without difficulty by someone unaccustomed to language learners.   

DOES NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS:

70-80%

Understood, with occasional difficulty, by someone unaccustomed to language learners. 

Language:

  • Creates with language; uses strings of sentences and sometimes uses connected discourse of paragraph-length.   
  • Consistently uses a wide range of vocabulary that accomplishes the task and some specialized and precise vocabulary. 
  • Very accurate in the use of the required target language structures and the grammar needed to perform the task.
Language:

  • Creates with language (do not rely on memorized chunks); connects simple sentences to create longer sentences; and routinely uses strings of sentences.
  • Uses a wide range of vocabulary that accomplishes the task. 
  • May make a few errors using the required structures and but they rarely interfere with communication.
