Mamta Tripathi is an educational leader and a reflective practitioner with a growth mindset. Since 2008, she has been teaching Hindi language and culture in a professional capacity as a Lead Instructor at several STARTALK language immersion programs funded by the National Security Agency and at community-based Hindi language schools. She has developed thematic curricula, learning plans and engaging activities for online and onsite language and culture immersion programs. Integrating language learning with rich content and culture is her forte. She is passionate about applying research-informed pedagogy and the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Language Learning in community-based Hindi programs which led her to conceive & co-found Hindi Language Academy. Mamta has co-authored four books for Hindi learning. She is leading a specialized Seal Prep program for high school students that prepares them in all the four language skills for standardized Hindi tests that leads them towards earning the State Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy. In 2008, she founded the very first Hindi program in Montgomery township, New Jersey which has been successfully running and has engaged more than 600 students. Mamta regularly recruits, trains and mentors emerging Hindi teachers in research-based language acquisition pedagogy and EdTech tools. At conferences, workshops, and webinars, she advocates on the benefits of multilingualism in preparing students for college and career with 21st century skills. Science and technology embedded in India’s rich culture and heritage are of keen interest to her. Mamta is extensively trained in conducting oral proficiency interviews and is currently pursuing ACTFL-OPI rater certification. To keep her pedagogy and leadership skills current, she regularly participates in professional development training, seminars and workshops conducted at esteemed universities and research centers like NYU, Columbia, UCLA, Kean, Stanford, CARLA, and CAL. Mamta resides in New Jersey with her family. She likes to read and listen to Hindi poetry and stories in her free time. To connect with nature, she loves to go on hikes and to the beaches with her family and friends.
