Artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg Featured in NY Times

Using 3D Printing Technology to Explore Identity

Heather Dewey-Hagborg, an ITP alumnus currently making waves with her “Probably Chelsea” art installation, was recently featured in a New York Times article about the Seattle Art Fair and women in the art world. Dewey-Hagborg’s project, which uses DNA from Chelsea Manning to create potential facial appearances, which are then printed using 3D printing resources at NYU LaGuardia Studio. Dewey-Hagborg is a long-time client of the Studio. In addition to 3D printing each of her files, Studio staff assist in the preparation of 3D model geometry as well as post-processing work prior to printing.
