As we begin to prepare for a full schedule of events in 2024, starting with an event on Voluntary Self-Disclosure Policy for Export Controls Violations on January 16, 2024, the NYU School of Law Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement (PCCE) is taking a moment to reflect on our busy Fall 2023 program. First up: our September 6, 2023 Roundtable on SEC enforcement policy.

On September 7, 2023, PCCE hosted an evening event on SEC corporate enforcement policy. The event featured two moderated panel sessions. The first panel featured Gurbir Grewal, the current SEC Director of Enforcement, and five former SEC Directors of Enforcement including Stephanie Avakian, Partner, WilmerHale LLP; George Canellos, Partner, Milbank LLP; Andrew Ceresney, Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP; William McLucas, Partner, WilmerHale LLP; and Steven Peikin, Partner, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

The second panel was composed of experts drawn from the academy and whistleblowing firms including Miriam Baer, Vice Dean and Centennial Professor of Law, Brooklyn Law School; Sean McKessy, Partner, Phillips & Cohen and former Chief of the SEC Whistleblower Office; and Andrew Weissmann, Professor of the Practice at NYU School of law.
