staRt: Speech Therapist’s App for /R/ Treatment
New technologies have the potential to revolutionize both development and delivery of interventions for speech sound disorder. However, translation of this research to clinical practice is currently limited by the cost of the technology. BITS Lab has developed software that aims to make an evidence-based biofeedback treatment program readily available to SLPs worldwide.

Development of staRt has been supported by NIH STTR award R41DC016778 and an ASHFoundation Clinical Research Grant. Collaborators include Tae Hong Park (Purdue University), Mario Svirsky (NYU Langone), programmers Will Haack and Sam Tarakajian, designer/developer Helen Carey, and students and faculty in NYU’s Music and Audio Research Lab and the NYU ABILITY Project.
