Adam Ramey is an Assistant Professor of Politics at New York University – Abu Dhabi. His expertise is in the areas of American legislative politics and behavior as well as political methodology (text analysis, item response theory, and machine learning). Adam’s current work uses text from legislative speeches as well as social media behavior to identify the personality traits of both the elites and masses in the United States. Currently, he is writing a book (More than a Feeling: Personality, Polarization, and the Transformation of the U.S. Congress) on how elite personality affects behavior within Congress. This book includes a chapter on how different personality types adopt different media styles, as evidenced through legislators’ press releases and Tweets. Adam’s work has appeared in the Journal of Politics, theJournal of Theoretical Politics, and Historical Methods. |
