Jorge Corona, Marketing Associate
NYU Tisch School of the Arts, MFA ’24
Jorge Corona is a formerly undocumented, formerly DACAmented immigrant from Mexico who grew up in Texas and now lives in New York with his wife and baby. He has been a video and audio producer for various companies including Fusion, the Gizmodo Media Group Union, New York Magazine, and Vogue. He has also been an active organizer with the Writer’s Guild of America, East, a visuals producer for Make the Road New York, and a creative storytelling mentor with the Writer’s Guild Initiative.
In his own work, Jorge loves to tell stories that embrace offbeat humor and bizarre visuals to explore the American experience through a Latinx lens. His comedy short Love Me Tenderizer, which he wrote, directed, and acted in, had it’s world premiére at the Academy-Award qualifying Austin Film Festival. Jorge is currently an MFA student at NYU’s Graduate Film program, where he is preparing another short for a festival run and writing a short film and two feature films. He hopes to push what American cinema can be while building up and supporting other undertold stories that move audiences toward a better world.
