Oakland
Oakland has a unique tradition of radicalism that is today the foundation for a variety of local organizing efforts around the political franchise, environmental justice, food justice, labor, and housing rights. We have only just begun to develop community partners in Oakland, but see it as a training ground for the kind of activism that will transform fellows from academic researchers to practitioners in the cause of ending inequality and oppression.
