Check Your Email On the Go
Configuring a mobile device to access NYU Email is quick and easy, but the process varies based on your device. NYU Email is accessible via apps such as Apple Mail or Gmail, or by using a browser to log into NYUHome. When accessing your NYU Email through an app, you may be asked to authenticate your login with NYU Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
NetID Password vs. Google Apps Password
Depending on the device and software you use to access your NYU Email, you may also be required to create a separate Google Apps password, which should be different from the password associated with your NetID for other NYU services. This s password does not expire and is only required to access NYU Google Apps through mobile or desktop programs—once you enter and save it there, you will not need to re-enter it.
Configuring Your Devices
- See the ServiceLink knowledge base for device-specific instructions on accessing your NYU Email on your mobile device.
- When logging in for the first time, you may need to authenticate with NYU MFA. After that, your credentials should be stored by the app.
Trouble Accessing Your NYU Email on Your Mobile Device?
- If you are having trouble accessing your NYU Email after setting it up on your mobile device, make sure you previously set a Google Apps for Education password and that you entered it correctly.
- You should also make sure Google’s built-in 2-step verification is turned off.
- If issues persist, please contact the NYU IT Service Desk for additional support.
