The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) featured the SONYC project in their February, 2019 newsletter. SONYC’s goal is to leverage “the latest in machine learning technology, big data analysis, and citizen science reporting to more effectively monitor, analyze, and mitigate urban noise pollution.” To accomplish this, project researchers partnered with NYU IT Research Technology to take advantage of the High Performance Computing team’s Prince cluster and Brooklyn Research cluster for data storage and analysis.
