On October 14, 2018, NYU IT’s Operations Technology and Support Services (OTSS) will be holding the first annual Scribble NYC Design Forum at the NYU MakerSpace in Brooklyn from 8am to 8pm. This forum will bring together middle school, high school, and college students along with local teachers and school administrators to participate in workshops and participate in a contemporary design competition.
The first portion of the event (9:30am-2:30pm) will include 90-minute workshops led by design professionals and subject-matter experts from NYU, Apple Inc., and Upperline Code. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about contemporary design ideas and some development tools.
The second portion of the event (4pm-8pm) will feature a design competition centered around “Students Enhancing Student Life.” Grade-based teams (6th-8th grade; 9th-12th grade; mixed 6th-12th grade; and undergraduates) will have an opportunity to display their design concepts or working products to a panel of judges. The panels are inclusive of NYU, city, and tech institutions.
There is an individual registration fee of $25 if you are a student, and of $50 if you are an adult. A bulk rate of $120 is available for 8 participants if a group of students and teachers or students and parents/guardians want to attend to represent a school (NYU or any local public or private school).
If you are interested in attending this event, please sign up through the Scribble NYC website.
