NYU IT is pleased to announce a new feature that reduces the number of digits required to place calls between most NYU global locations. Instead of having to dial the full telephone number, you can now use the destination location’s new two-digit prefix, followed by the 5-digit extension of the NYU phone you’re calling.
For example, to call NYU Abu Dhabi’s main number from another NYU location, you would no longer need to dial 011 971 2 628 4000; you would simply dial 5184000 (51 being Abu Dhabi’s prefix).
Please note:
- This feature doesn’t change the way you dial NYU numbers within your campus.
- This feature is optional—you can continue to dial the full telephone number to make calls between NYU global locations, if you prefer.
- At this time, this feature is not available from or to NYU’s Accra, Buenos Aires, and Madrid locations.
