Bio:
Shamit S. Desai graduated from NYU with a BA in philosophy in 2008, having sub-matriculated directly into the first MA in Bioethics program class. Within the program, he initially took an interest in Clinical Ethics and later in areas of population health justice. On that basis, he combined the two efforts as the Moses Fund Fellow of 2009-2010 by conducting a practicum on the trends and factors that influence clinical adherence to antiretroviral therapy in large hospitals in Mumbai and Philadelphia. He is currently a medical student in Camden, New Jersey and hopes to put his Masters degree to good use upon becoming a practicing physician.
