Bio:
My central goal as a bioethics student is to help develop the project of compassionate coexistence. It is crucial that we examine the ways in which we encounter the other beings with whom we share this world, human and non-human. We must foster an attitude of responsible attention and care when we engage with the beings around us. I intend to work mainly on the environmental ethics branch of this task. I am particularly interested in the questions that arise when considering larger-scale biological entities (species/lineages, populations, communities, ecosystems, etc.).
I was born and raised in Berkeley, California. I have spent many years working with children and teens, both in outdoor/recreation settings and more recently in the classroom. Last year I taught biology to high school students, and this year I taught science to special education middle school students. I enjoy playing music, cooking, and hiking.
