Bio:
Eva has always been fascinated by the defiant spirit in medicine against mortality, but she also feels deeply conflicted when witnessing this persistence to clash with patients’ autonomy and their will to live. Studying and Mind-body Medicine and volunteering at various healthcare institutions during her undergrad years have revealed to her the power of context and language (eg. the widely studied placebo effect, wonders of narrative medicine). As an aspiring physician, Eva thinks that the expressions (either verbal or non-verbal) of a physician often carry immense weight in clinical encounters and could potentially cause harm without a proper background knowledge of clinical ethics. She is looking forward to the valuable insight this program will bring to her career so that she can be both a life-long learner and most importantly, a responsible listener.
