The UK-based Guardian Unlimited realizes that outrage over Pope Benedict XVI’s comments about Islam is a big deal. They’ve put an update as the top story on their website today, they’ve included a transcript of the speech, they even have a section entitled “Special Report: The Pope.” The New York Times, on the other hand, only ran one article and tucked it away under “Europe” in yesterday’s World section. It didn’t have an update today. But regardless of the extent of coverage, both dailies fail to look at the Pope’s previous comments about Islam. Here’s one example from January.
