Boy Jesus

At the behest of an Italian TV station, forensic scientists created a picture of Jesus from the Shroud of Turin and then used computer enhancement programs normally used to “age” photos of missing children to “back age” the picture to see what Jesus looked like as a 12-year old boy. The picture was made around the same time that controversial research was published last month claiming that the shroud could date to the time of the crucifixion. According to Jay Ingram of the Discovery Channel’s “Daily Planet,” the new research is bad science, and lots of it, but he’s resigned to the fact that a good Shroud story can’t be kept down.
