NYU SPS occupies the entire building with academic department offices, administrative offices, computer labs, a student lounge and classroom facilities.  All students must have a valid NYU ID to enter; all visitors may register at the desk in the lobby. The Center for Global Affairs is located on the 8th floor..

NYU Computer Labs 
The School of Professional Studies has state-of-the-art computer laboratories at its Washington Square Campus (7 East 12th Street), and at its midtown facility (11 West 42nd Street). Computer labs are also available in other NYU facilities in the Washington Square vicinity. Information Technology Services (ITS) is NYU’s central source for computing, information, network, and telecommunications services. NYUHome accounts provide you with a fully customizable, easy-to-use Web portal for e-mail and personal Web pages, online courses and research tools, and NYU-Net, the campus-wide network. ITS maintains four large, modern computer labs with high-end Macintosh and Windows computers, laser printers, multimedia equipment, and a wide variety of software. Students can access the Thesis/Capstone Library Index online. Students can also request to view electronic copies via the Electronic Thesis Library Request Form

Students can reserve group study rooms online. You may even consider reserving one of our new Graduate-only collaborative spaces available in Bobst.

BobCat can be used online to search NYU’s vast print and electronic resources. BobCat is easily accessible (through NYUHome > Research Tab) to students both on and off campus.

Think that Bobst is just another great reference source for printed publications? Think again! The Avery Fischer Center for Music and Media houses over 32,000 video and 82,000 audio resources for students. To learn more about this resource, please visit here.

Studying in Bobst, but forgot to bring your laptop? Bobst has computers available for research on every floor of the library. Students are also able to borrow laptops at Bobst for use throughout the building.

Students also have the option of making appointments with specialty librarians to help with their research needs. Struggling to meet a deadline?  Librarians are also available at the Bobst reference desk, via phone, via email, via text, and even via instant message. Students may also sign up for various library instruction classes to get acquainted with the various research databases and software programs available for use throughout NYU. New to NYU? We highly encourage all students to sign up for the “Physical & Virtual Tour of the Library” instruction class available through Bobst to become more familiar with the library resources available to you.

Disability Services are also readily available to help accommodate student needs.

Kimmel Center: 2nd Floor Lounge 
Many students find this lounge to be quieter and less crowded than Bobst Library.  It offers both indoor and outdoor study areas as well as easy access to computers. The Kimmel Center also has a dining hall available to refuel after a long day of studying.

Chatham Square Branch Library 
A popular study area, a nearby branch of the New York Public Library at 33 East Broadway, near Catherine St.
