Are you interested in the intersection of activism, art, and feminism? Do you want to contribute
to a growing community that is invested in expanding diversity in Wikipedia content and
creation? Join us at Bobst Library, in Rooms 743 and 745 (7th floor), on March 2, 2020
from 5pm-7pm for an Art+Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thon where we will draw from our Special
Collections to edit and create new content on the theme of Art + Activism.

NYU Special Collections as a part of the Art+Feminism initiative, with support from Wikimedia
NYC, will train you to create and edit Wikipedia entries. Laptops will be available, but you are
encouraged to bring your own. If you’d like to bring your own idea for a non-existent or
underdeveloped Wikipedia entry, we encourage that as well. We will provide reference texts,
food, and community. We encourage people with any level of experience with Wikipedia to
attend–from the experienced editor to the occasional reader.

Details:
To come prepared, you can create an account ahead of time here: Create a Wikipedia Editor
Account. (Pseudonyms are encouraged, as is an email for password recovery.) Volunteers will
also be available onsite and happy to help you create an account.

There will be one training session starting at 5:15 PM (or just come in and start editing)!
Children are welcome. Snacks and activities for children will be available, but no formal
supervision will be provided.

All attendees are expected to follow Wikimedia NYC’s Code of Conduct and the NYU Libraries
Code of Conduct.

Capacity is limited to 100—please RSVP at: http://bit.ly/ArtActivismNYU.
