What are your hours and how do I get access to the NYU Production Lab?
The NYU Production Lab’s current opening hours are 11am-4pm, Monday through Thursday. Anyone with a current NYU ID card can access the space during these hours. NYU Alumni may also access the space by emailing productionlab@nyu.edu. All visitors will be asked to sign our Lab User Agreement (available at the front desk).
 

How and when can I book space at the NYU Production Lab?

  • Starting in September, our “Multipurpose Room” (also referred to as the “Audition Room”) can be booked for free via our Space Page.
  • The Production Lab’s lounge and main space are open to NYU creatives on a first come-first serve basis. Remember not to leave personal items unattended!
  • Booking the entire Lab space for a private event (e.g., a NYU Department Showcase, film screening, open mic, etc.) is subject to availability, approval, and associated financial costs; see our Space Request Form for inquiries.

How and when can I apply for your programs?
Applications for our Feature Film Development Studio are now open! Please subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed about deadlines for our application-based programs.
 

Do you provide discretionary resources for artistic projects? 
Outside of our application-based programs, we are unable to provide direct financial support for projects at this time.

Which of your spaces and programs are available to NYU alumni?
We welcome NYU alumni from any school to all our programs, and encourage alumni to use our physical space at 16 Washington Place! Alumni can email productionlab@nyu.edu to get on our approved visitors list.

Can I rent film equipment from the NYU Production Lab?
The Lab does not rent out film equipment. If you are a Tisch student looking to rent or return camera equipment, you are likely looking for the Kanbar Production Office / Production Center (production.office@nyu.edu); please contact them for help.
