In this lecture, Phil Crew will give insight into the urban regeneration of London’s King’s Cross; its journey from dereliction to destination; and how a program of dead buildings and lifeless sites was transformed into a global exemplar of sustainable urban renewal. Phil was the Project Director for University of the Arts London in the re-development of the Granary Complex at King’s Cross into a landmark campus for the world-renowned Central Saint Martins art college. The King’s Cross transformation is one of inspiring change at one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe. Phil will highlight the perspective of the participants involved in regeneration, along with processes, places, and people comprising the development.
