Let’s Encrypt, a non-profit organization that helps people obtain free SSL/TLS certificates for websites, has announced on their blog that they will begin revoking a large number of mis-issued security certificates beginning at 11:00am ET on Friday, January 28, 2022. Let’s Encrypt indicates that they have already tried to contact any users who will be impacted:
“On 26 January 2022, Let’s Encrypt notified subscribers (with a valid contact email) that on 28 January 2022 we will revoke certificates issued in the last 90 days and validated with the TLS-ALPN-01 challenge.”
For details and help, please refer to the email you received from Let’s Encrypt (if any) and review the full blog post and discussion thread: Questions about Renewing before TLS-ALPN-01 Revocations.
