NCSAM presents an annual opportunity to bring cybersecurity top-of-mind with the reminder that cybersecurity awareness best practices and resources are available to help you defend against occurrences such as compromised data and devices, identity theft, monetary loss, reputational damage and more. Many cybersecurity best practices are easy to implement and the benefits cascade throughout our digitally connected and technology enhanced lives. Remember that cybersecurity starts with you, and that we will partner with you on the journey!

This year’s theme Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart, encourages us to own our role in protecting our internet connected devices. In addition to the NYU IT Security News & Alerts blog, please be sure to check out NYU’s Security Awareness web page, which contains resources around the following themes:

  • Antivirus-Malware Protection
  • Secure Passphrases
  • Safely Using Public Wi-Fi
  • Detecting & Avoiding Phishing
