A Matter of Leaving
A Matter of Leaving is a tactile study. A landscape of moving images where the footprints of four urban nomads unveil the texture of farewells.
It is a manifesto of departure, memories and identity, mindscapes and migration.
As the camera travels through New York City, voices touch surfaces and tales merge with the metropolitan tapestry. From them emerges a palimpsest, where something new yet familiar, chaotic yet still, and perhaps, soft, takes form.
Zhuoer Chen (they/them) is someone…who (?) wanders, documents, and plays hooky… They are born and raised in Guangzhou, China. They are in their third year at Gallatin with the concentration Eroticism: Body, Fantasy, and Fragmentation. As a pseudo-nomad, they travel through time, space, and mediums in no particular order.
