ARTIST STATEMENT:
The is a 40-minute film about a boy and a girl who stay on-campus during the summer break. They roam around the space, sometimes in the morning, sometimes at night. Their rebellious spirit gradually rise, and then one day, they decide start a fire to fight the ordinary life and the system that forced that life on them.
This film is my graduation project in college and won the Beijing Film Academy Award of Best Screenplay of that year. It plays with the boundary of dream and reality. It has a slow film texture and a graceful sense of humor.
BIO:
Lezhong Yang is a young New York based filmmaker from Beijing. She is a writer, director, and editor. She is a Pisces. Her MBTI result is INFP. Don’t get discouraged by her shyness, she is a good listener and enjoys good conversation.
