The Offer
STATEMENT:
As a filmmaker, I always wanted to make a film about my passion. It is a uniquely intimate and alluring experience to try to dissect the fabric of the art form to which you want to devote your life. The key for me was to produce the film from a place of humility, finding a tone that treated the audience as peers and did not overwhelm them with technicalities. It was meant to be a down-to-earth film tackling a nuanced issue with which non-filmmaker audiences could still resonate.
The Offer is the project that has allowed me to take this leap. I hope to share my intimate experiences and observations of ongoing drastic changes in the industry through a story based on a real-life event and the surrounding public controversy. But, most importantly, I want to ask my audiences: how much are you willing to sacrifice for something about which you are incredibly passionate?
