Dissecting the Medical System

STATEMENT:

Out of all industrialized nations, America spends the most money on healthcare. So why is it that we still rate the lowest in overall health? There tends to be a misconception that it stems from poor lifestyle choices (smoking, drinking, and consuming saturated foods). However, this installation intends to reveal that the answer is a multilayered one and far more complex than what originally meets the eye. As we analyze how capitalism is ingrained into the very structure of our medical system, we can understand why public health continuously rates so low. Join me as I put on gloves to slice into the dark underbelly of Big Pharma and dissect the medical system.
