Rebellious Joy
STATEMENT:
Is it foolish to love romantic comedies, with their predictability and “happily ever after” endings? Is it simple-minded to cling to movie musicals and their dancing-through-puddles approach to adversity?
Rebellious Joy is my reflection on what it means to remain hopeful and to believe in a better future for our children, in light of the never-ending barrage of bad news over the last two years. Through challenges both trivial and profound, I have witnessed people perform great acts of kindness and community, and this is my ode to those changemakers.
