Metamorphases

STATEMENT:

METAMORPHASES is the story of a twelve-year-old child actor, Elijah, turning thirteen and aging out of his role in a long-running musical. It’s an exploration of the end of childhood and the onset of self-consciousness. Although this comic is not autobiographical exactly, it is inspired by my own experiences as a child actor, and the unique pressures facing professional children as they enter adolescence. Does your talent have an expiration date? Will you fail as an adult?

METAMORPHASES was made through a combination of traditional and digital illustration: the pages were sketched with pencil on paper, then digitally inked in Clip Studio Pro.
