ARTIST STATEMENT:

This piece was inspired by a recent trip to the dentist. They found a piece of meat stuck in my tooth.

BIO:

Cameron Saltsman grew up in a seaside town outside of Boston, MA and is concentrating on Poetry and Visual Art at Gallatin. She is greatly inspired by writers Anne Carson, John Ashbery, and Susan Howe and painters Philip Guston, Pat Perry, Edward Hopper, and James Siena.

Land Acknowledgement The Gallatin Galleries is located on the traditional territory of the Lenni-Lenape, called “Lenapehoking.” The Lenape People lived in this territory in harmony for thousands of years. During the colonial era and early federal period, many were removed, but some also remain among the historical tribal communities of the region. We acknowledge the Lenni-Lenape as the original people of this land and their continuing relationship with their territory and we affirm the aspiration of the Lenape Chief Tamanend, that there be harmony between the Indigenous people of this land and the descendants of the immigrants to this land.
