BIO

Maen is a documentary photographer and writer. He considers himself a dedicated creative, always encouraged to explore the imaginative and to play around with the mundane.

Maen has been documenting the Palestinian skateboard scene for the last seven years and engages in reciprocal nourishment with this community. He was born in Palestine, raised in the American suburbs of Michigan, and is currently based in between Boston and Ramallah.

Maen has had his images exhibited in New York, Paris, Dubai, Florence, and elsewhere. He also has work in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Maen has had his thoughts and images published in TIME, i-D., the New Yorker, and Caravan Magazine. He is a Magnum Foundation grantee and recipient of the Arab Documentary Photography Program and holds a MA in international affairs from the George Washington University. Besides Maen’s work in documentary photography, he is also a human rights researcher and campaigner.
