Ecology’s POV
“The most important thing, in response to climate change, is to be willing to hear the sound of the Earth’s tears through our own bodies.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Trish is a senior at Gallatin concentrating in creative communication for wellbeing. Her goal is to alleviate emotional and environmental aches by amplifying nature-forward sentiments in her creative work. She loves to read the poems When Great Trees Fall by Maya Angelou and Map of the New World by Joy Harjo to affirm her beliefs and embraces The Red Deal, a text that can be found online and details the Red Nation’s proposed action plan to underline indigenous ways of living. She comes from Malaysia and realizes that developing regions come with easier access to nature due to their slower urban progress. Her sense of place and the contrast between there and here fuels much of her work.
