ARTIST STATEMENT

I took the subway between Brooklyn and Manhattan to school from the first day of kindergarten until my high school graduation. I find consistently fascinating the vulnerability we submit ourselves to on the subway just to get from one place to another. I wrote this conversation between a man and a woman to release some of my more prevailing anxieties. Most of it came to me while I was stuck on a stalled train underground. B Line is a claustrophobic exploration of authority, intimacy, and proximity to the terrifying unknown.
