Blue Note strives to preserve the history of jazz, and the club is a place where progression and innovation – the foundations of jazz – are encouraged and practiced on a nightly basis. In addition to the main acts that feature the likes of Robert Glasper, Pat Metheny, Christian McBride, Joshua Redman, Ron Carter and Chris Botti, the storied jazz venue regularly showcases up-and-coming jazz, soul, hip-hop, R&B and funk artists.

The Messy Parts Podcast
We are a small nimble team — of senior executives who now work on passion projects, from NYCNext to The Longest Table to now The Messy Parts Podcast.
We’re a startup that ebbs and flows with friends, favors and freelancers.
We dream big and have a track record of making the impossible happen.
We’ve self funded and launched The Messy Parts as an independent project. In week 6, the podcast was featured on Apple’s New & Noteworthy page. By week 11, we were appearing in the Apple business podcast rankings at #33 (we are #4 in careers). AND we’re just getting going. What we are interested in is building a media platform … and The Messy Parts is the first piece of that puzzle.
About the host: Maryam Banikarim, is a convener, community builder, and host of The Messy Parts Podcast. She believe our biggest challenges make the best teachers and that authentic storytelling creates the strongest communities. She turn difficult conversations into meaningful connections and help leaders find power in vulnerability and growth in uncomfortable moments. Freedom for Immigrants
About Freedom for Immigrants:
Freedom for Immigrants (FFI) is an abolitionist organization that envisions a world without prisons or cages of any kind. We work to abolish immigration incarceration, recognizing we are part of a broader movement fighting for our freedom at the intersection of mass incarceration, immigration enforcement, and the deprivation of Black, brown, and Indigenous people’s autonomy. To empower our communities, we organize alongside and follow the leadership of currently and formerly incarcerated immigrants. We recognize our work is necessarily tied to broader efforts to eradicate white supremacy and the systems that sustain oppression. By cultivating the community-centered solutions that breathe life into our collective liberation, we actively build a future in which all people can move freely and thrive.
