Summertime champions an art world where artists with and without intellectual disabilities create and display work alongside one another. Founded in May of 2019, Summertime is a nonprofit 501c3 Art Studio and Gallery located in Brooklyn. We strive to revolutionize the art world by breaking down the barriers that have made “outsiders” out of artists with disabilities.

Description of Internship: Summertime is seeking a part-time intern who is passionate about championing inclusion in the larger contemporary art world. The Intern will support and assist the Gallery Director in managing exhibition programming. They will make efforts to include the artists in each step of the exhibition and curatorial process. They will provide exceptional services that are person directed, progressive and impactful for adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
Desired Skills: Summertime is looking for applicants who share our value of championing artists with intellectual disabilities. We are looking for open minded, creative and forward thinking people who have interest and/or experience working in the disability field, those who are intrinsically motivated and self starters, someone who possesses strong organization and communication skills and is open to providing and receiving feedback from colleagues, team members, and group members.
Other Requirements: Photoshop skills are a plus, but not required!
