POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, a national leader in the creation of innovative theatre, is launching the third cohort of its transformative fellowship program in partnership and with a lead gift from the Miranda Family Fund, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s family philanthropic fund. This ambitious program is designed to provide talented candidates from historically excluded communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, with the job experience, resources and training necessary to build their careers as arts administrators or theatre technicians. Each fellowship is structured as a paid year-long department-specific position with benefits (including health insurance). The fellowships will take place over one year and begin in June 2023.
The Miranda Family Fellowship Program is in partnership and with a lead gift from the Miranda Family Fund. Major support is provided by the Wilke Family Foundation, the UPS Foundation, and the Patalano Family (Lou, Jodi, Ali, and Will) with additional support from Kristin Ehrgood and Vadim Nikitine and the Verizon Foundation.
The Miranda Family Foundation Connectivity Fellow will join Woolly Mammoth’s nationally acclaimed Connectivity department in linking Woolly’s artistic mission with its social and political mission through artistic programs, community engagement, and audience enrichment activities. They will provide the Connectivity Director with a wide range of administrative, logistical, and programmatic support, particularly with respect to line producing Connectivity Core Partner Program events. The Miranda Family Connectivity Fellow will also support the day-to-day administrative functioning of the department, to include extensive scheduling and calendaring support. They will also be asked to take on additional tasks and duties related to the Ambassador program, Lobby Exhibits, and Talkbacks as assigned.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Line Produce Connectivity Core Partner Events, to include:
-Coordinating logistics with event partners;
-Coordinating and providing internal staffing support;
-Coordinating with Marketing to promote the event to target audiences;
-Writing event descriptions/copy for the website, and other promotional materials;
-Creating digital flyers as needed;
-Scheduling internal and external meetings, and maintaining Departmental calendar;
-Budget tracking, and monthly credit card reconciliation;
-Participate in show-specific brainstorms about artistic programming;
-Support audience engagement activities by assisting with the design and implementation of our interactive lobby experiences and gallery spaces;
-Draft bi-weekly connectivity emails;
-Contribute to the writing of any educational study guides;
-Conduct research on community organizations and local artists, to include attending community events/meetings, and exhibitions or performances;
-Participate in season planning meetings;
-Serve as a member of the Talkback Team, leading post-show artist talks as necessary;
-All other duties as assigned.
COMPANY-WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPERIENCE:
Theatre experience (can be at the university, community and/or professional level)
Be at least 21 years old by June 14, 2023
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-Can commit to the duration of our fellowship timeline, from June 2023 – June 2024;
-Fellows will be expected to relocate to Washington, DC no later than two weeks following the start of employment;
-Can commit to 40 hours a week, including some evenings and weekends, for meetings and in-person and/or virtual events;
-Ability to collaborate with and adapt to a wide variety of people and personalities, working styles, and artistic visions;
-Strong analysis around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Access, and Anti-Racism;
-Excellent writing and communication skills;
