Description of Internship: Working as a Family Week Intern for COLAGE is an incredible opportunity to work behind the scenes, develop friendships with fellow adults, gain leadership experience, and learn to be a strong advocate for ourselves and our families. The work you do will affect the lives of 150 queerspawn youth and 30 queerspawn adults. You will also get to develop a stronger relationship with Angel, the National Program Director, and be part of a small team of three Family Week interns.
To be an Intern with COLAGE at Family Week you must be at least 18, and have (or had) one or more lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer parent/guardian(s). Ideally you have attended at least one year of Family Week as a COLAGE volunteer in the past, but this is not required. Black folks, Indigenous folks, people of color, people with disabilities, trans folks, and folks with a transgender parent(s), are highly encouraged to apply. We are working hard to ensure that our spaces are as accessible as possible for people with disabilities and people who have access needs.
This internship will start March 1 and end August 31. General hourly breakdown:
March: 5-7 hours/week
April: 5-7 hours/week
May: 10 hours/week
June: 10 hours/week
July: 10 hours/week (except Family Week)
August: 5 hours/week
Each intern will receive a $2000 stipend, have Family Week travel and housing covered by COLAGE, and receive an additional $35 food stipend at Family Week and $20 on travel days to and from Family Week. During Family Week, Interns are expected to arrive in Provincetown on Friday, July 21 and stay until Sunday, July 30. During Family Week, the hours are long and intense, but there will be meal and self-care breaks each day and social breaks most days.

2. INTERNSHIP INFORMATION:
COLAGE is looking for an intern for the Fall and/or Spring semester! The Social Media Intern will support the COLAGE staff to develop and implement outreach and promotional campaigns to boost brand engagement and increase programming attendance. Applicants must be eligible for school credit. This is an unpaid position. This position will require 5-10 hours per week and you will report to the National Program Director.
Qualifications:
• Experience with social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
• Skills in Canva, G-Suite, and iMovie (or any other video editing software)
• Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
• Possess creativity, energy, and a comment to thinking up new ideas
• Must be knowledgeable and experienced with technology and comfortable working in a virtual office environment
• An undergraduate or graduate student currently working towards a degree, preferably in design, marketing, or a field related to COLAGE’s mission
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
• Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
• Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms
• Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
• Create compelling graphics to share across social channels
• Write social media captions that speak to COLAGE’s audience
• Help create and edit short-form videos
• In coordination with the National Program Director, develop new strategies for increasing engagement
• Ensure brand message is consistent
• Candidates are not required to work between normal hours except for specific meetings that will be planned around your schedule
