Artists Talk on Art, a 501C3, is the art world’s longest running and most prolific aesthetic panel discussion series. Founded in 1974, ATOA has conducted and recorded over 1,000 talk events featuring over 8,500 artists, critics, curators and other art world figures. Our historic archive resides at the Archives of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution.

Description of Internship: SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
Globally known and venerable visual arts panel discussion series with weekly virtual events, via Zoom, seeks savvy social media creation and placement person to craft and place messages on a number of major platforms during our 2022 — 2023 season, commencing after Labor Day.
Typical weekly tasks:
* Write social media posts focused primarily on the weekly ATOA Zoom event panels, dialogues and “open studio” subjects, for which our programming director will supply the components … there are periodic ‘special events’
* Attach or embed images
* Post them to the ATOA Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and occasionally other platforms (our website gets its materials posted by our webmaster)
* Track visits, opens, clicks and other key metrics
Desired Skills: Qualifications include: Experience writing and posting social media messages, proficiency in Photoshop and Canva, a respect for and interest in the visual arts and artists and a willingness to commit to the assignment for the full academic year.
Other Requirements: The right person will have experience with utilizing available templates for web design, be familiar with common, often used, platforms and software such as, but not limited to, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, etc. Other useful skills would include the Adobe suite, MS Office and similar. Enthusiasm about the visual arts is a plus!
