Description of Position
The objective of the Guggenheim Museum Internship Program is to provide practical training experience to students interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum, as well as specific skills related to that department’s activities. Interns are assigned based on academic background, professional skills, interests, and career goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns participate in the ongoing work of museum departments, complete individual projects, and contribute to larger Guggenheim initiatives. For a full list of departments that offer internships, please see www.guggenheim.org/internships. Please note that not all departments offer internships every program cycle.
Museum Culture Seminars
Museum Culture Seminars form an integral part of our Internship Program. Site visits to other New York arts and cultural institutions, and discussions with a wide array of arts and museum professionals are facilitated. A field trip out of New York City is planned for the end of each internship period.
