CityStep is a dance and social impact organization, a federally-recognized, 501(c)3 not-for-profit. It brings teams of college students into city schools to teach a yearlong curriculum of creative self-expression and mutual understanding through dance. At the end of every year, scores of school children from across the city come together to create and perform a full-length dance production about a theme relevant to their lives. CityStep was launched at Harvard/City of Cambridge 35 years ago and remains wildly popular on campus and in the community. It also thrives at Penn/Philadelphia; and was recently launched at Princeton/Trenton and Yale/New Haven. The mothership, CityStep.org, is based here in Manhattan, where the internship(s) will take place. The goal is to strengthen and codify the current program and replicate it to colleges and communities in need across the country. Next Stop: New York City!
