 São João Del Rei (1958), Humberto Mauro

VERSÃO EM PORTUGUÊS

. Writing does not always come easy during the quarantine, so I have taken the lockdown as an opportunity for some critical feng shui. I have completely reorganized the website, and the new set up makes it easier to find my writings – some of them dating back to 2007. The list is far from complete, but it’s more comprehensive than it’s ever been, and it will keep growing. Hopefully, energy will flow better with the new layout and I will resume writing in the next few days;

. I have also taken the opportunity to add links to whatever films I have worked on that are currently available online. Two features that are not linked have been temporarily made available by the directors, and I highly recommend both of them:

– The Volcano Exiles (Exilados do Vulcão, 2013), by Paula Maria Gaitán (password: paulaexilio);
– The Daily Death (A Morte Diária, 2014), by Daniel Lentini (password: minas)

For more on each of them, check out the FILM section;

. The Criterion Channel is currently streaming Mario Peixoto’s Limite (1931). The film was released as part of the World Cinema Foundation Boxset 2, accompanied by an essay that I wrote for it;

. The second installment of my weekly quarantine column for Cinema Tropical is already up on their website, and they should keep popping up every Thursday.

. A escrita nem sempre flui no tempo da quarentena, então tenho aproveitado o isolamento social como oportunidade de um feng shui crítico. Nesse impulso, reorganizei todo o site, e a nova configuração facilita a busca por meus escritos – que chegam até 2007. A lista está longe de ser completa, mas é a versão mais abrangente até o momento, e continuará sendo atualizada. Torço para que a energia flua com maior facilidade nessa nova disposição, e que eu consiga retomar a escrita nos próximos dias;

. Também aproveitei para colocar links para filmes em que trabalhei e que estão disponíveis online. Dois longa-metragens que não estão linkados foram temporariamente liberados pelos diretores, e recomendo muito que assistam:

– Exilados do Vulcão (2013), de Paula Maria Gaitán (password: paulaexilio);
– A Morte Diária (2014), de Daniel Lentini (password: minas)

Para outras informações sobre os filmes, consulte a seção FILM;

. O Criterion Channel disponibilizou para streaming o filme Limite (1931), de Mario Peixoto. O filme foi lançado no segundo box da World Cinema Foundation, acompanhado por um artigo de minha autoria;

. A segunda edição da minha coluna semanal de quarentena para o Cinema Tropical já fou publicada, e devem ir ao ar todas as quintas-feiras.
