Interests

My research aims to link the transcriptional mechanisms responsible for the generation of about 200 different neuronal types in the Drosophila optic lobe to the factors that instruct their terminal differentiation: mainly their synapse-specific wiring. To this end, I combine massive single-cell profiling of gene expression and chromatin accessibility in developing brains with state-of-the-art machine learning and network inference methods.
