Short Bio

Gyugeun was awarded a Ph.D. in Transportation Planning and Engineering at New York University Tandon School of Engineering in January 2023. His dissertation subject was “Route Design with Optimal Learning.” He received his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Seoul National University in South Korea. After graduation, he worked for the Department of Transportation System Research at The Seoul Institute, the public research institute developing and evaluating policies and supporting political decisions of Seoul Metropolitan Government. His research interests include urban transportation systems, transportation network design, travelers’ behavior and perception of new transportation technologies, and optimal learning. He is currently a postdoctoral research associate at North Carolina A&T State University.
