Amalia Córdova advisor to Berlinale Indigenous film showcase
Congratulations to C&M alumna Amalia Córdova. Amalia has been selected as an advisor to the Berlinale Film Festival’s upcoming showcase on Indigenous films from Latin America, called NATIVe – A Journey into Indigenous Cinema! With NATIVe, the Berlinale aims to show its appreciation of Indigenous cinema and demonstrate its relevance beyond regional, political and cultural boundaries.

Gender Reel NYU features films by members of C&M community
The Department of Cinema Studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts welcomes Gender Reel for a two-day transgender film & performance art festival on February 7-8, 2015.

Reheja’s C&M film a finalist for 2015 Social Impact Media Awards
Congratulations to Natasha Raheja! Her Culture & Media film Cast in India is a finalist for the 2015 Social Impact Media Award!! This contest recognizes eye-opening impact cinema from across the globe that exemplifies excellence in its potential to inspire change! Natasha’s film is one of 37 films from 35 countries to move onto the final judging round!

Congratulations to C&M alumna Lina de Jesús! Her short film “Mi Tia de Condado” won second place in the Hazlo Bien HIV prevention video contest! Hazlo Bien is a Puerto Rico-based HIV/AIDS awareness campaign for youth.

THE CANCER MIRROR wins award at Big Apple Film Festival
Congratulations to C&M alumna Sophie Tuttleman! The short documentary she produced while in the Culture & Media Program, The Cancer Mirror, won the award for Best Student Film over the weekend at the 2014 Big Apple Film Festival!
