Amalia Córdova advisor to Berlinale Indigenous film showcase

Congratulations to C&M alumna Amalia Córdova. Amalia has been selected as an advisor to the Berlinale Film Festival’s upcoming showcase on Indigenous films from Latin America, called NATIVe – A Journey into Indigenous Cinema! With NATIVe, the Berlinale aims to show its appreciation of Indigenous cinema and demonstrate its relevance beyond regional, political and cultural boundaries.

Gender Reel NYU features films by members of C&M community

The Department of Cinema Studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts welcomes Gender Reel for a two-day transgender film & performance art festival on February 7-8, 2015.

Carmen’s Place by Anna Wilking (C&M alumna)
Synopsis: life in a NYC shelter for transgender youth.

Luchando by Noelle Stout (Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology)
Synopsis: four Cuban sex workers who set out to resolve their touching and, at times, humorous predicaments.
