The Abu Dhabi Stochastics Group puts together researchers from several institutions in Abu Dhabi who work on topics related to Probability in a very wide sense.
The Abu Dhabi Stochastics Group is active in the following areas, listed in no particular order:
- Mathematical Physics, including statistical mechanics.
- Percolation, critical phenomena, scaling limits and Euclidean field theory.
- High Dimensional Probability, including Concentration and Functional Inequalities.
- Free Probability, Random Matrices and Random Graphs.
- Markov chains and stochastic processes.
- Theoretical foundation of machine learning including Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Reinforcement Learning.
Most of the work conducted within the group concerns large systems whose behavior cannot be analyzed deterministically. One of the main goals of that work is to increase our understanding of the mathematical structures underlying the universal behavior of such systems. This research has connections with other fields that can profit from the use of stochastic methods.
